Biolan Bulking Material is a peat‑free bulking mix for composters and dry toilets. It helps create the right structure in the compost mass, improving composting efficiency while keeping odours under control.

The mix combines crushed pine bark, moss and biochar. Pine bark keeps the compost airy, while moss and biochar absorb excess moisture and help balance moisture levels. Biochar also binds odours and may support microbial activity in the compost.

The product contains live sphagnum moss harvested from the surface layer and not dried before harvesting, resulting in an absorbent, easy‑to‑use bulking material for both food waste and toilet waste.

Description

How to use Biolan bulking material:
Household bio‑waste: Cover the waste with a thin layer of bulking material. A suitable amount is typically about half the volume of the bio‑waste added to the composter. Add more if the compost is wet or smelly.

Garden waste: Layer garden waste and bulking material in the composter. If the compost is dry, moisten with water.

Dry toilet waste: After each visit, add 1–2 cups (approx. 2–5 dl / 200–500 ml) over the waste. Cover especially carefully if you also compost household bio‑waste in the toilet.

Storage: Protect from moisture and store in a dry place. Once opened, keep the bag sealed or transfer the contents to a lidded container.
